NEW YEAR NEWS
We returned to the Seprona Guardia on New Year's Eve, with updated photographs and desperate pleas. To our astonishment, we left with their promise that all the dogs would be removed in two days!!! The next day, Dog-Girl turned up late at night to, finally, feed the dogs and bury the terrier. She did not have the guts to do this in daylight in case she was observed. However, a day later the black dogs had dug up the body of the terrier, but clearly were not starving enough to eat it....yet!
In fact, it was four days later that Seprona arrived, but the speed of their response was, for the Spanish, unprecedented. They managed to remove 35 of the dogs, promising to return for the other five. However, the next day, three of the original dogs had been returned by Dog-Girl, and we feared that this would be the pattern until the compound had been completely re-stocked.
Happily, a rescue service, *Cereco, turned up, expecting to take the five remaining dogs. However, as there were now eight dogs there, they could only fit six in their van, so that left two. By this time, none of the original five dogs had been fed for five days. The two that were left remained unfed for a further 24 hours before Cereco returned to remove them. Faced with the loss of her pets, Dog-Girl had still made no effort to feed the remaining dogs, not even when she returned with three of the rescued animals!!
As for the inhabitants of that wretched box? The pathetic creatures have been released and, whatever their future, it has to be better than their previous confinement.
BUT ARE WE HAPPY?.......NO.
You would imagine that we are pleased with the outcome, but we are aware that this woman is obsessive about the possession and ill-treatment of dogs and, having invested several thousand euros in the building of this death-camp, she will not willingly give it up. We remain cautiously optimistic, hoping that a formal complaint against her will result in a prosecution and, if we are lucky, a lifetime ban from keeping animals. This website remains operational until we can deliver the BEST news....that the compound has been completely removed and Dog-Girl effectively prosecuted.
